Loves to Be Creative: previously made high-fired porcelain pottery; at the current time, uses the skills of lapidary and silverwork to transform natural stones and sterling silver into bracelets, rings, pendants, necklaces, boxes, earrings and something new every week. Truly Handmade “From Rough to Polished”: Uses saw, grinder, torch, polishing discs to transform rough stones (beryl, amethyst, lapis, adventurine, sodalite, sapphires, etc.) from nature into jewelry art creations - “Earth Glam”.
Inspired by the Beauty of Nature: has hiked and explored the Smoky Mountains; has spent years “rockhounding” and gem mining; different colors and variations of rocks and minerals are all “precious” to John.
Constantly Learning & Experimenting with New Tools & Techniques: Has taken classes in Hendersonville, at Penland School, at the John C. Campbell Folk School, and at William Holland.
Participates in Art Guilds, Craft Festivals, & Activities Such as Silver Arts: Valley River Art Guild, Blue Ridge Arts Association, Celebrate Clayton Festival, Mountain Heritage Day; awarded medals in Silver Arts.
